I was so excited to photograph Erika and Tim's wedding after our fun engagement session shoot. They are such a beautiful couple. The wedding took place at Pickards Mountain Eco-Institute, which had everything from a lakeside view to wooden trails, solar panels, a giant barn and baby goats. The setting was idyllic and the ceremony was quiet and Buddhist.
We were all concerned about the possibility of pouring rain, but the weather turned out to be absolutely incredible. The rain held off until after the ceremony and everyone had time to get back to the dinner area while me and Erika and Tim made some lovely portraits. Then the rain cleared at the end of dinner and a rainbow came out into the sky! Add in a bride, groom, farm, moody sky, and some good omen birds, and it was a crazy magical moment.
We also created some secret garden style images in between the rows of plants that turned out pretty sweet.
Tim and Erika had some really beautiful ideas for wedding gifts and keepsakes. Every guest that wanted one could take home a mug of their own. They also had a mini-polaroid camera and a photo spot where guests could take photos at the wedding and hang them up all throughout the day! And I couldn't resist including a photo of the very friendly farm goat.
We found a perfectly green and shady backdrop to make formal portraits just a short walk from the main venue.
We moved down by the lake for the ceremony.
Of course, the kids could not resist playing in the rain!
Their first dance!
Bubble blowers, coloring books and chalkboards, Tim and Erika were spot on in providing entertainment for guests of all ages.
And into the night, everybody danced!
Thanks to DJ FM for the music! http://www.djfm.com/
